Steven John. It's easy to find downloads on your Mac computer in three different ways. When you download a file on your Mac , you can find it in the downloads folder on the dock, or by navigating to that folder in Finder.

You can also find the download in a web browser, like Safari or Google Chrome , if you still have that browser open after you've downloaded a file. Most people, though, stick with the default. Browsers typically make it easy to quickly get to downloaded files. Clicking the magnifying glass button next to an item reveals the downloaded file in Finder. Clicking the Clear button hides the Downloads button until you download something new.

The Downloads folder can become a messy mix of semi-abandoned cruft and items you actually need. You might download music from the likes of Bandcamp or Amazon, but then import it into the Music app, making the original downloads redundant.

Show the downloads list by clicking the Show Downloads button , then click the Resume button for the paused download. Make sure you have the app needed to open the file. If you do, the file may have been corrupted during the download.

Delete it, then try downloading it again. In the Safari app on your Mac, click the Show Downloads button near the top-right corner of the Safari window. Pause a download: Click the Stop button to the right of the filename in the downloads list. To resume, click the Resume button. Find a downloaded item on your Mac: Click the magnifying glass next to the filename in the downloads list.
