Teen, 14 years old Written by The reviewer of August 16, The best game Honestly the best game I have ever played. All in all fantastic game. Teen, 16 years old Written by mortalicon July 8, As beautiful as the story may be, it also contains mature themes. As you play the game, you are forced to side with one of four factions. A gang called the Fiends includes a rapist named Cook-Cook. Though, the player is not forced to confront the Fiends. Depending on the faction you side with in the main game, you will be forced to enter a strip club.
This quest involves sexual violence, as well as sex trafficking and extreme sexual themes. In the Casino that the aforementioned quest takes place in, you can hear moaning in the background..
You have the chance to have sex with characters, but the screen goes black. The game includes no nudity, but scantily-clad hookers can be seen and will talk in a suggestive manner with the player. As far as the violence goes, the game contains lots and lots of gore. The game includes a lot of language, basically every word in the book. Drugs are a common item that the player can use for benefit in combat. Teen, 14 years old Written by Truckkun April 25, I have over hours in it myself However, they are some things to note for parents.
The violence is often absurd and almost comical but that does not make not violent. There is a kill cam after all VATS kills the game's optional and limited combat system and also after some regular kills that shows body parts being blown off, disintegrated, or otherwise destroyed in quite gruesome fashion which can be a bit of turn off for parents, however, this killcam can be disabled by the settings.
Aside from the killcam, the violence is similar to what you'd find in a PG movie with some blood and the occasionally body part flying off depending on the power of the weapon that is being used.
Most of the violence can be circumvented by disabling the kill cam though. They serve as aid items that offer a temporary benefit but end up having a long-term negative effect on the player character which is a good lesson about drug use to kids I guess.
However, it could be more realistic if you do too many drugs, you can die of an overdose or lose items on drug trips and wake up in random places, etc. Overall, it is a somewhat small part of the game but still notable if you don't want your child to exposed to simulated drug use and addiction. The swearing is nothing special.
If your kid is over the age of ten, they've heard everything the game has to offer, either from school or the home. The worst it gets as far as visuals is some half naked women dancing in skimpy outfits outside of one of the casinos on the Vegas Strip.
If your child has ever been to the beach, they've seen outfits more revealing. The "sex" is briefly talking with a prostitute in the affirm mentioned outfit, giving them money, going into their room, sleeping in their bed, and hearing one or two moans while the screen goes black. It's quite tame compared to a lot of PG movies your kid has probably seen. Gambling is also a small part of the game available at the Vegas Strip obviously and two other locations around the map.
The gambling consists of three games; Blackjack, Roulette, and Slot Machines. There is also a card game that was designed specifically for the game called Caravan. It is quite difficult to figure out and has low stakes so I wouldn't call it "gambling".
The moral choices of the game are more gray and ambiguous than previous Fallout titles and it can led to some very interesting outcomes and thought-provoking internal conflicts for you and your kid. If you have the time, you could even discuss the game with your kid and the choices they made which could be a bonding experience for both of you. The game has a lot of choices, both to do with their own character and the world around them.
After tracking down the man that tried to kill you and stole the package you were delivering as part of your job for the Mojave Express, you are thrust into a world with dozens of interesting side quests, companions, and other smaller factions with the overarching plot being four major factions vying for control of the Hoover Dam, New Vegas, and the Mojave Wasteland as a whole.
Each faction has it's flaws and it's strengths and there is no black and white "good guy"-"bad guy" dynamic although some factions are definitely worse than others. The world is filled with good, bad, and morally neutral characters you can meet, interact with, help, and even hurt along the way to the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam. Overall, a great game that I highly recommend for most people but for parents, the violence and drug usage might be off putting, but in my opinion, nothing a mature year old couldn't handle.
Teen, 13 years old Written by Khakiturtle April 16, This game combines good storytelling with one of the best dialogues I have ever seen. The most amazing thing I found out about this game is that, they had only 18 months to build and develop this game. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout. A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas.
The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle. New Systems! Im still playing this game 3 months later, and I'm only back to this website to defend a title that was clearly misrepresented.
As long as your kid understands the difference between reality and fantasy, its a fun game for anyone Helped me decide 2. Had useful details. Read my mind. Parent Written by John D. December 25, Somewhat violent, minimal use of drugs, but still prevalent, and will keep your kid happy for days.
This is a great game, I have played it all the way through to make sure it is okay for my kid. I highly recommend it to anyone's kids who are teenagers. There is violence and drugs, but the message is still clear: Be a good person and have good morals.

Adult Written by Lickme July 16, Let's be real, the game was created 10 years ago, so the violence is not that graphic. The game is really difficult to play, but if you are familiar with Star Wars: Jedi Fallen then Fallout shouldn't be too dificult for you.
Adult Written by ortega October 5, This title contains: Ease of Play. Patrolling the Mojave makes me wish for a nuclear winter It's soo good it's hard to describe. Positive role models. Adult Written by Anthony B. April 16, Best game Story Game out there! I have over hours played in this game and by far is frankly one of the Best games I have played.
If you know your child can handle Blood and Swearing then your fine. The entire game is set place in Las Vegas and the main theme is Greed and how people handle it. You might want to stay away from the Casinos in the New Vegas Strip Because there are Gambling and in one of the Casinos they have skimpy females dancing in cages. Adult Written by Mark21 January 16, The violence is there, but is only really bad if you use VATS to slow down time even then the most you'll see is some blood or the occasional head flying off feet in the opposite direction as the graphics are terrible in this game.
There is no sex shown in this game as you can only talk to the prostitutes. You can gamble if that is a concern. The drugs are called stimpaks and just restore your health. It really comes down to knowing if your kid is mature enough.
Adult Written by MaxM 1 December 28, Great Game! Fallout New Vegas is a great game for anyone who loves the idea of 50's themed futuristic western apocalyptic scenarios including mutants, spaceships and adventure. Yes, it is true that this game does have some violence, but it is nothing that a mature twelve year old shouldn't be able to handle.
There is mild adult theme, but this isn't easy to find in the fallout world. Drugs and alcohol are as much part in this game as are packages of regular food and soda, and they game gives a demonstration of the harmful effects it has on the human body. Furthermore, if your child is mature, this is a great series of games to get him or her and it is quite enjoyable!
Adult Written by benjamindover30 December 21, Good game. Some violence, but not too much. It's true that this game contains violence, drug use, and some suggestive content, but what game doesn't these days? Quite frankly, it doesn't seem like something that should be restricted to children, but you should probably check if your child is mature and understanding enough of the fact that some things in the game should not be recreated in real life.
While it does contain some suggestive content and drug use, it isn't very strong. And it does seem to teach kids life lessons, because the game does reward good behavior and punish bad behavior generally speaking.
Adult Written by adultwith4kids September 13, The karma system rewards you for making the right decisions and punishes you for making the wrong decisions. Also, you can turn off the blood. Parent of a 13 and year-old Written by broberto August 2, Good This is a great game And if you make good decisions you can have a very positive experience.
